Rwanda Eyes More Investors from China

On 26th April 2021, the Embassy of Rwanda to the People’s Republic of China participated in the 2021 China-Africa Economic and Trade Cooperation Conference (Wuhan) and introduced to Chinese investors Rwanda’s business environment, investment opportunities as well as tourism products.

This cooperation conference which was held online was organized by Wuhan China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT Wuhan), the Middle East International Exhibition Group and Wuhan Liaison Office of the China-Africa Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CACIC).

In her remarks, Ms. Shen Bin, the Secretary-General of CCPIT Wuhan, said that they will continue to actively make use of China-Africa Entrepreneurs Conference, China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo and other China-Africa economic and trade promotion platforms to promote and strengthen exchanges and cooperation between Chinese and African companies and institutions.

Rwanda Embassy’s Commercial Attaché Mr. Samuel Abikunda thanked the organizers for providing a platform through which more Chinese companies can learn about the business environment in Rwanda.

“Rwanda has made it easy to do business and has already attracted a number of investments from China. We believe that through institutions like CCPIT Wuhan and CACIC, and platforms such as this webinar, we can do more between our countries” Abikunda added.
Currently Rwanda is ranked the 1st in East Africa and 2nd on the African continent in ease of doing business. The Government established a one-stop center for investors; Rwanda Development Board (RDB), with the vision to transform Rwanda into a dynamic global hub for business, investment, and innovation.
